12 Movie Myths That Will Change The Way You Look At Movies Forever
Movies can be an awesome teacher when it comes to taking you to the very extremes and giving you lessons you'd otherwise never want to take. But sometimes it can take you a bit too far beyond those extremes, where reality gets pushed to the background.
To debunk some of these movie myths Lenya Brick from Brightside has made a series of illustrations that shed light on cliches that we've become so used to, we even started taking them as the real thing. From badass shooting with multiple guns to restarting hearts at the last second, these cliches don't hold much weight in the real world.

This is a drama thing that movies have made popular that can cost lives, if someone can splash their arms around and scream, they are "just" panicking and can at least stay afloat, people who are actually drowning are much more quiet, often they are too exhausted to do anything but try to stay afloat, much less scream. If someone in the water has not moved (ot just with the currents) for a while, doesn't pop out of the water much and doesn't make a sound, those are the warning signs!
This Ostrich Snuggles Orphaned Elephants To Make Them Feel Better After Losing Their Moms
They say friends come in all shapes and sizes… Jotto the baby elephant was just 1-month-old when he fell in the well and separated from his herd. David Shelldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) took him to an elephant orphanage in Kenya where he could heal until he was ready to go back to the wild. Little did the rescuers know that even though there were plenty of elephants at the shelter, Jotto will become BFF with… an ostrich named Pea!
Pea was rescued back in 2014, when the staff went to save a baby elephant and found the birdie and her ostrich brother Pod in need of help, too. They were taken to the elephant shelter. Pod has returned to the wild and joined wild ostrichs, but Pea is staying with the elephants, feeling completely at home.
“It is safe to say orphaned ostrich Pea most definitely believes she is part of the elephant herd and little Jotto is more than happy to enjoy a cuddle with his feathered friend,” DSWT wrote this week. “Beautifully tender moments at the Nairobi Nursery, where these two orphans and many, many others, are being given the opportunity to heal and, when they are ready, to return to the wild.”

This Island Has More Miniature Ponies Than Humans
If you are tired of everything (especially people), and desperately need a bit of magic in your life, we’ve got your next ultimate getaway covered – the tiny Island of Foula in Britain, which has more fairy tale-like miniature ponies than human inhabitants. Sounds like a paradise, right? But it’s an actual place off the coast of Scotland! While its population is only 30 people, hundreds of stuffed animal-like ponies await your arrival…
Foula is part of the Shetland Islands. Small horses have been kept there since the Bronze Age. This is where Shetland ponies originated, and now the breed is known around the world. The ponies have heavy coats, short legs, and are considered intelligent. Miniature Shetlands have even been trained as guide horses to take the same role as guide dogs. And they are so magically-unbelievably-darn-cute, you’ll start wondering whether you’re in a dream…
Before you start packing your things, know that to get to Foula, you’ll need to hop on a ferry or get on a plane, and the flights depart just a few times a week.
Once you put your feet on the island, you can rent a small cottage or a room at the local B&B bungalow. Then, rediscover yourself with the help of the Old Norse culture, breathtaking views, rich wildlife, lovely cliffs and green knolls. You can also explore the coastline, scout killer whales and birds or – when you start missing humans again – chat with one of the 30 locals.
